Navigator of The Seas – Day 1 & 2

Growing up 15 minutes from the Fort Lauderdale port my family and I went on a lot of cruises. Now that I live on the west coast it’s not as easy to hop on a cruise. And the destinations were not always the best for kids.

Thanks to Royal Caribbean’s newest port, Los Angeles we took our family on an epic 6 day vacation on Navigator of The Seas to Cabo.

Day 1

We parked in the lot, went through security, submitted covid tests and entered our cruise ship, Navigator of The Seas.

Every day they changed the carpet in the elevators so you can keep track of the days on this enormous boat.

First stop – lunch at the Windjammer Buffet. They greeted us with a huge flag made out of cupcakes.

Lunch crew! We made plans to cruise with our friends, the Bienenfeld’s and while chatting with a friend we found out the Salter’s were also going to be on our cruise. We were a total of 14 when together!

Tip: Since you won’t be able to go to your room until much later in the day (like up to 3pm), pack a bathing suit and sunscreen in your carry on bag.

We entered our room and were greeted with stuffed octopus and blankets for the kids. This was add on prior to sailing, but highly recommend as my kids were able to bring their blankets throughout the ship for places that were chilly.

Cleaned up and ready for dinner! We chose My Time Dining. This way we had the same table, same waitstaff and dinner at the same time each night.

After dinner we headed out to watch the sunset.

The entertainment this evening was an ice skating show at iSkate. This show started with an amazing drone show and ended with the Greatest Showman dance routine! We loved it!!!

Day 2

After breakfast we started the day at the pool.

After the pool Sarah and I headed over the Flowrider.

The boys were too short so they played corn hole on the deck.

We had to go inside due to rough seas from tropical storm Kay. We showered and then walked around the ship until dinner time.

We stopped at the Schnore’s Bar for a round of Trivia.

Washed up and ready for dinner at the Dining Room.

Our entertainment for the night was a broadway style show.

After the show we stopped by the promenade for some pizza and snacks.

We headed in of the night and were greeted with a towel animal.

See you tomorrow for Day 3 & 4!
