Vegas With Kids

Known as the Entertainment Capital of the World, Las Vegas is not just for adults. With over a dozen visits to Las Vegas with kids, it’s time to share all of our favorite kid friendly spots in Vegas.

Alien Fresh Jerky/ World’s Largest Thermometer

We always stop at Alien Fresh Jerky. It’s a fun pit stop with clean bathrooms and fun things to check out. They even have a hotel for those who would like to explore more.

A few feet down the road is the World’s Largest Thermometer! My kids thin kit’s really cool and like to check the temperature when we pass by.

2. Eddie’s World

Another great stretch break is Eddie’s World. They call themselves the “Disneyland of gas stations,” and it is easy to see why. This huge has station has everything from an ice cream shop, Fresh Gourmet Food, Peet’s coffee and loads of snack options. It is probably six times the size of a typical gas station. They also have a four-story ice cream sundae outside and a shrine to the Lakers basketball team inside. Be sure to make a quick stop here.

Location: 36017 Calico Rd, Yermo, CA 92398

3. Seven Magic Mountains

Before entering the strip take a drive to the Seven Magic Mountains art installation. These huge rocks are a fun pit stop to stretch your legs.

4. Pinball Museum.

This ginormous warehouse is filled with classic pinball games and newer video games. My kids love hanging out here for a couple of hours each time we go to Vegas!

5. Shows

We love going to Tournament of Kings (in the Excalibur hotel). The medieval-themed show combines arena-style entertainment like jousting and sword fighting with a feast befitting a king. A full dinner meal is included with the ticket price.

6. Entertainment

Walking along the strip in Vegas alone is entertainment. We like to check out these hotels below.

Mandalay Bay has Shark Reef Aquarium

Luxor has ancient Egyptian artifacts and the strongest beam of light in the world.

New York New York has the Big Apple Roller Coaster, Hershey’s World and lots of NYC replica’s.

MGM has Television City, an interactive research center where you get to practice being in front of the camera as well as watching free TV and Movie screenings throughout the day.

M&M World this place is a must see when we visit Vegas. From their candy selection, their FREE 3d movie and store this place is 3 levels of fun!

Cosmopolitan Hotel has beautiful chandeliers and a cool Secret Pizza restaurant (across from the W).

Paris Casino has a 500-foot-tall replica of the Eiffel Tower, complete with an observation deck. We also like to stop here for coffee and croissants.

Bellagio is know for it’s fountain show, but we really love going inside and checking out their lobby. Every season it gets transformed into a beautiful wonderland. They also have a Chocolate Fountain at the Bellagio Patisserie.

Cesar’s Palace lobby has an underwater world of mermaids, seahorses, and is highlighted by a massive aquarium.

Flamingo Hotel has a Flamingo wildlife habitat. We love checking in on the pink ladies.

The Linq Hotel has the World’s biggest Ferris wheel. We saw the best views during sunset!

The Forum Shops have saltwater Aquarium with every time of fish you can think of.  Near the aquarium the Fall of Atlantis Fountain Show is another great free activity where animatronic figures go through the story of the island of Atlantis. This shows runs every hour Sunday-Thursday from 10am-11pm and until Midnight on the Weekends.

The Venetian has Madame Tussuad’s Wax Museum, Gondola rides and Italian-style buildings.

In front of the Treasure Island Casino is a massive pirate ship. It’s interactive and has daily shows.

Top Golf is also a favorite of ours. From dinner to golf, this place has it all!

ATV by Sunbuggy. This adventure is off the strip and requires a reservation.

We also like riding the free tram. We start at Park MGM, then go to Aria, and then end at Bellagio.

7. Hotels

We like to stay on the strip at hotels like the Mandalay Beach Resort or MGM Grand Hotel. Mandalay has a wave pool, lazy river and sand for kids to play in. MGM has a large lazy river and lot’s of pools to choose from.

Tahiti Village Resort is also a great hotel for families. However this resort is not on the strip so be mindful of this when planning your adventures. They have a volleyball court, sand entrance pool, lazy river, water play area, family style restaurants and the hotel is smoke free.

9. Eat

Vegas has world renowned chefs and amazing restaurants so what I am going to mention is not so much good food, but places and food for kids.

Rainforest Cafe –

My kids love this restaurant! As soon as you walk in you immersed in a jungle. From the animated animals to the sound of waterfalls it really feels like you are in the jungle. The kid’s menu is for ages 10 and younger, offering an assortment of entrees like Jurassic chicken tidbits, the gorilla grilled cheese delight, and the python pasta. Kids can choose sides like fresh veggies, mashed potatoes, or apple sauce to complete their meal. Tip: every 30 minutes the lights flash representing lightning, you’ll hear thunder, see rain, and the animals will go crazy with excitement!

Tournament Of Kings –

As if knights and kings slaying dragons wasn’t entertaining enough for kids, the Tournament of Kings kid’s menu, for ages 12 years and younger, encourages kids to eat with their hands. The kid’s menu includes tomato soup (drink from the bowl), fried chicken tenders, French fries, ranch, and carrot sticks, and for dessert, an apple pastry.

Hard Rock –

Walls filled with rock and roll memorabilia, a great menu and fun music.

Bok Bok Chicken-

On Saturdays , Bok Bok Chicken eat for free. Dine in customers can get one free kids meal with the purchase of a regular plate.

Secret Pizza in the Cosmopolitan Hotel –

This pizza restaurant is a secret and does not have any signs to enter. The entrance it self is even hidden (located on the 3rd floor). After you walk through a hallway with records you walk inside and order your pizza. With only a few barstools inside, take your pizza to go for a night in.
