Mt. Baldy

Every year we try and take the kiddos to see the snow. With snow capped mountains only a couple of hours away, its fun to go out and play with the snow for the day. This year we checked out the snow tubing at Mt Baldy.

All suited up and ready to go!

In the past we’ve taken our sled and just played in the snow. This time we bought passes ahead of time. Yes I knew there would be a skit lift, but I didn’t expect to sit in a wobbly wooden chair for 15 minutes above lot’s and lot’s of mountains. To say I was scared would be an understatement.

Sitting with my brave girl! So glad she didn’t inherit my fear of heights.

The boys were behind us. Between this height and watching hubby lift the bar gave me chills.

Up the mountain (finally!) and waiting for our time slot.

“Mommy, you should take a picture of me with my first snowball!”

Tip: Get here at least an hour before your time slot. This way you can park, ride the lifts, get in line and visit the the bathrooms.

It was our turn to go down the slopes. One kid was super excited and the other one was not interested one bit. Can you guess which one was the fan?

After a few tears, I took J to get a snack.

He spent the rest of our time on the slopes eating his snacks by the benches.

After a few snacks I convinced Jacob to try one more time. This time he was a happy camper!

So fun!!

My boys!

Such a fun day snow tubing with the family!

We grabbed a late lunch, played with the snow some more and then headed back on the lifts.

Bye, bye Mt. Baldy. Thanks for the fun trip!

Chanukah {2018}

I’m just now getting around to sorting through my pictures from Chaunkah and it was already one month ago! So here we go…

We welcomed Chanukah with a surprise breakfast!

We had chocolate milk, doughnuts and make your own yogurt parfaits.

We had such a fun morning!

Night #1

Our day started with a visit to our local zoo for their Snow Festival.

Then we headed to Sarah’s Hebrew School for their Chanukah party.

We spent the 1st night at our friends house. However I didn’t get any pictures (which is such a shame since she puts so many details in her parties) accept for Jacob playing dreidel with the other kids at the party.

Night #2

On the 2nd night we went to Chabad’s candle lighting party. Due to the Woolsey fires our community had a special presentation for them. In return they passed out chocolate gelt (gold coins).

Night #3

On the 3rd night we went to Chabad’s kids program at a local play place. We learned how to make olive oil from pressed olives, played and ate sufganiyot.

Night #4

Earlier in the day, I picked my order of munchkins from Dunkin Doughnuts. Did you know DD makes special munchkins for Chanukah?

On the 4th night we had our neighbors over for dinner. I made our favorite latkes bar

Night #5

On the 5th night we stayed in and had baked mac & cheese. I found these cute Chanukah shaped noodles at Homegoods.

Night #6

We stared the day in Jacob’s class for a Chanukah party. The kids danced, made crafts and we sat down for sufganiyot and coffee.

The 6th night was also Shabbat. I loved seeing my table lit up!

Night #7

The 7th night was also my 37th birthday! We stared the morning with doughnuts in bed (our family tradition) and then headed to downtown LA to play with snow at Snow Day LA.

Night #8

We started the day with a birthday breakfast at a nearby cafe.

We came back napped and hung out at home playing dreidel.

It’s hard having a birthday on a major holiday so I want to take a minute thank everyone for all the birthday love!

Happy holidays from my family to yours! Thank you for filling my home with all your smiling faces. I loved getting your cards so much that they are still hanging up.

And in case you were part of the dozen cards that we received back from the post office due to some crazy mailing errors then here is our card this year.

10 on 10 {January 2019}

Documenting 10 pictures on the 10th day of the month. Here is a peek into our day!

At 8 am the fog was super thick. I could barely see anything past the traffic light!

Back home I unloaded the dishwasher, made coffee and plopped on the couch to watch “Tidying Up” while J played independently.

I finally pealed myself off the couch and made our way into town. After we ran a couple of errands we ended at Costco.

We got my favorite almond poppy seed muffins and a whole bunch of other stuff.

We unloaded the car, made lunch and headed to pick up Sarah from school.

Thanks to a Chanukah gift, I was able to call her on her watch to let her know where we were parked.

Back home we did homework, ate a snack and went outside to play. I like to leave my phone at home from 3-5 so I don’t have any pictures from that time.

Around 5pm hubby came home and I realized I didn’t have a few items for dinner. Jacob and I walked to the store while Sarah went to the neighbor’s house.

I don’t like our townhouse but I LOVE our neighborhood. There is so much greenery everywhere and we can walk to the market.

Spotted these new “Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups” made with sunflower butter. I was intrigued but have not yet tasted them.

For dinner we had soup, salad and grilled cheese. PS if you like corn chowder soup I highly recommended this brand!

After bath, books & prayers the kiddos were in bed. Hubby and I watched the new show, The Titans and then went to bed. Anybody else watch it? We love the competition!

Happy Thursday, friends!

Yogi Tea

I love tea! In the warmer months I drink iced tea and in the colder months I drink hot tea. I really should have been born in the South. I love tea so much that I even had my 30th birthday party at a tea house.

However not all teas are created equally. Luckily I’ve found Yogi tea. Yogi has been creating deliciously purposeful teas sine 1984. Based on a proven knowledge of Ayurveda, the ancient holistic healing system of India, the Yogi collection combines over 140 exotic spices and botanical from around the globe.

Did you know, Yogi has created over 50 teas? All rich in both flavor and healthful purpose.

For example, Yogi’s Honey Lavender Stress Relief tea promotes a sense of relaxation and calm.

Traditionally used relaxing herbs and Lavender, Chamomile, and Lemon Balm combine in this delicious blend to sooth your body and mind.

I like my tea before bed. After the kids are in bed, the kitchen has been cleaned up, and the toys have been picked up I like to sit in my quiet living room, read a good book and drink a cup of tea.

Yogi teas are made from organic ingredients and do not contain GMO ingredients.

Where to purchase?
Yogi Honey Lavender Stress Relief Tea is available to purchase at natural and neighborhood grocery stores and through e-commerce sites. To find a store near you, click here for a full list of locations.

Connect with Yogi on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Disclosure: This post was written as part of my participation in the Moms Meet program. While Yogi provided me material and necessary resources to complete various activities, the thoughts and statements in this post are my own.

Saved by the Max

Last weekend hubby and I went on a ultimate day date! We went to LA’s most recent pop up shop, Saved by the Max!!!

If you were a Saved By The Bell fan then you would recognize this restaurant from the second you walked in.

After we placed our order our waitress suggested that now would be a good time to walk around and check out all the memorabilia.

First up was Belding’s office. They made his office area into part of the restaurant.

Not only did I get to sit in his desk, I even wrote on his calendar. #90scheese

Next, we walked over to the locker area.

I totally felt like I was on the set of Saved by the Bell!

Me and my very own Zack Morris!

Next, we checked out the arcade (which was on automatic so you could play for free), the pay phone and DJ booth!

Our food was ready, so we sat down to eat.

I got the “I’m So Scared” coffee cocktail (a nod to the episode where Jessie sings the Pointer Sisters tune after she becomes addicted to caffeine pills) and “Beat Valley Buttermilk Pancakes” that had banana and peanut butter syrup. Both were amazing!! Hubby got the “Preppy Pastrami” sandwich and fries.

For dessert we got a vanilla shake to share. Yum!

We walked around some more and played with the props.

I found Kelly’s locker and had fun checking out all the things they put in her locker.

Hubby and I rarely get day dates, but with such a special fun outing I’m glad we got to experience a favorite show when we were teens.

Friday Favorites

Today I am linking up with Erika, Narci and Andrea to share our Friday Favorites.

ONE

We started the week out with Sarah’s class holiday party. As the room mom I was in charge of putting together 4 activity stations for the kids. We had a cookie decorating, finger snowman, snowflake decorating and snowball toss. Getting to help out in Sarah’s classroom in my FAVORITE.

TWO

I met up with a friend at a new coffee shop this week and checked out the trending turmeric & ginger latte. It was so yummy! A new FAVORITE go to drink.

THREE

With all the holiday stuff in stores, I get overly surprised when I find something Jewish to add to my Chanukah stash. I found this gem at Bed, Bath & Beyond. It doesn’t really smell like anything but it’s nice to be included.

FOUR

I love sharing tidbits of my life on social media. Thank you Instagram for capturing my #topnine FAVORITES.

FIVE

Sarah and I “baked” treats for our friends this week. Baking together is our FAVORITE. Until of course she drops my food processor and breaks the attachment bowl. #tistheseason

Happy Friday, friends!

What’s Up Wednesday {December 2018}

I’m linking up with Mel, Shay and Sheaffer for some random monthly fun.

What we’re eating this week…

I’m loving our Farm Fresh To You delivery! I take a protein out of the freezer during lunch and use whatever veggie is in our box. It’s been so fun trying new veggies out!

What I’m reminiscing about…

I chaired my first PTA event and it was a success! Thanks to my family for putting up with my shenanigans these past few months.

What I’m loving…

Due to Jacob’s preschool getting damaged in the Woolsey Fires, his school is renting out a space in a school in another city. Due to the long commute the teacher suggested he stay a bit longer. You guys!!! He’s been napping at school and is loving it. It’s so crazy to me. He’s never napped with others in the room and much less on a mat. I can’t believe it! I’m so proud of him!

What we’ve been up to…

Celebrating Chanukah!

My 37th Birthday!

PTA Holiday Party

My friend, Jen gave birth to Miss Blake.

Disney On Ice with the kiddos

Family outing to Snow Day LA & Snow Day at the Zoo.

What I’m dreading…

Nothing at the moment

What I’m working on…

Sending Holiday Cards to our family and friends. Somehow I got 2 lists confused and have gotten a few cards returned. Oy!

What I’m excited about…

My sisters are both pregnant and are due a few months apart! I can’t wait to meet my nephews!!

What I’m watching/reading…

My friend recently told me about the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and I am hooked! I saw 2 seasons in 10 days! Eeek! I love it! I love how she’s Jewish, witty, funny and quick.

What I’m listening to…

I’m still listening to my friend, Sarah’s podcast called LA Chicks. You should check it out.

What I’m wearing…

Last weekend we were invited to a family ugly sweater party. I’ve never been to this type of party so I was on the look out for a Chanukah themed sweater. Thanks to Target there were two options. I chose the Live Laugh Latke sweater. Such a fun night!

What I’m doing this weekend…

Sarah has a birthday party to attend, we are going to a holiday party, hubby and I are going on a day date to somewhere really cool (I promise to blog about it) and we are ending the weekend with our town parade.

What I’m looking forward to next month…

Checking out the snow! We always plan a trip to play in the snow. Can’t wait!

What else is new…

The kids start winter break this Friday! I can’t wait for lazy mornings, adventures and lot’s of time to bake.

Question of the month is: What is your favorite last minute gift idea? I’m a big Amazon fan! If it can come to my door in 2 days and I didn’t have to take my kids into a store where they will ask for a snack and then another one I’m golden. Check out my Amazon Gift Guide here.

Happy Wednesday!
